A FILM SHORTAGE SELECTION
„Rausch” is a sci-fi dystopian dance short film by Paula Romy

More from the director:
„noun, masculine [Raúsch]
The feeling of happiness that lifts someone above their normal state of emotion.

In this lonely dystopian world, Player 0.1 is stuck in a desperate loop to complete an impossible, abstract mission every day. And the very thing that he chases, eventually makes him sick.
He’s stuck in a loop of chasing the RUSH. The ending suggests that Player cannot achieve the mission alone.

RAUSCH sets out to explore the concept of success. Especially in this day and age, in a capitalist western society, from a young age we are taught to set ambitious goals, dream big and work hard to achieve. We are taught that success and acknowledgement are important. So we strive for it every single day and quickly get addicted to the intoxication of recognition.

But the high is fleeting. And a cycle begins.”
