Halifax is a popular bank in Canada, and they offer many account types for different needs. In this video I’ll show you how to open an online Halifax bank account and what steps you need to take before opening the account.
To open a Halifax bank account, you’ll need to provide some information. If confusion, contact the Bank and they can help with the sign up process. Bank will ask for your personal details, including address and occupation so that we can confirm your identity in line with our data protection requirements.
You will also be asked to provide proof of ID like a driving licence or passport which must show your signature as well as an original copy of one other form of identification – this might be a utility bill or something similar. All new customers are required by law to deposit money into their account before they can use it; however there is no minimum amount needed when opening an account online or via telephone banking services.
